Abstract: | An intensive, year-long, international evaluation of the next major tokamak beyond the generation of large experiments currently under construction was carried out during 1979. This evaluation consisted of the definition of objectives an assessment of the physics and technology base and R&D needs and the identification of a set of parameters that physically characterize the machine. |
