Abstract: | The Water Diversion Project from the Hongyan river to the Shitou river (Yinhongjishi) is the key water conservancy project that sends water from the southern part to the northern part of Shannxi province. The main tunnel is the key part of the project. In the paper, based on the basic theory of New Austria Tunneling Method, the scratch design parameters of bolt and shotcrete supporting system and reinforcement concrete lining are optimized with the newly discovered geological information during the excavation of the tunnel. The bolt and shotcrete supporting system is improved to ensure the stability of surrounding rock mass of tunnel during excavation, and the reinforced concrete lining structure is optimized with full consideration of the bolt and shotcrete sporting system and lower external water load to result in a substantial reduce of the steal content, and the cost is thus cut dramatically for the drilling and blasting process in the project. |
