The Latest Progress in Study on Starch-based Adhesives

As a class of environment friendly natural adhesives,starch adhesives have attracted considerable attentions owing to their abundant raw materials,low cost,non-toxicity,convenience,and environmental protection in particular.Starch adhesives have become one of the potential natural adhesives for wood bonding.The latest development of starch adhesives for wood bonding is summarized,the limitation and its current research situation are introduced,and the development trend of the starch-based adhesives is briefly reviewed.And there are still many development opportunities for improving the water resistance,stability,moistureproof ability and antisepsis of starch adhesives,thus many scholars dedicate themselves to the further study on the starch adhesives.
