Cross-media information retrieval on mobile web

The tremendous development of Internet and SNS has brought people novel and wide range of multi-data and information acquisition method. Generally, such kind of information possesses characteristic of internality, user correlation and multi-modality, which is the feature of cross-media. Retrieve cross-media with precious user intent understanding is the elementary of Internet resource management. In this paper, we review cross-media information retrieval method including information annotation, semantic reasoning and geo-ontology implementation. Finally, we discuss with recent progress in cross-media information retrieval with some outstanding projects and point out some challenges in the future.
