An overview is given outlining the composition of low-melting seal glasses that have been employed in the preparation of glass-to-glass,glass-to-ceramics and glass-to-metal seals.Also,a number of compositional data of low-melting seal glasses are presented.Lead-free seal glasses with low seal temperature will become more and more popular and phosphate glass may be one of the preferred options.New manufacture processes and new glass forming systems will play a great part in the development of low-temperature seal glass.
