Abstract:A 45°sector substrate integrated waveguide resonator (SSIWR) with a pair of complementary split ring resonators (CSRR) etched on the surface was proposed. A compact double layer dual band balanced bandpass filter with high frequency selectivity was designed and fabricated. The differential mode dual band response is realized by using the CSRR with bandpass characteristic and the TM220 mode in the cavity respectively. The coupling between modes and the introduction of defective ground structure (DGS) made the filter produce four transmission zeros near the passband, which improves the out of band rejection. In addition, good common mode suppression has been achieved through the balanced structure and optimized feeding positions. The center frequency of the filter is 10.13 GHz and 10.83 GHz, the -3 dB bandwidth is 140 MHz and 150 MHz, and the common mode suppression in the two passbands exceeds 30.36 dB and 29.87 dB, respectively. The measured results are basically consistent with the simulated ones.
