Effective magnetic permeability of ferromagnetic composites. Theoretical description and comparison with experiment

Abstract:Two analytical methods based on the so-called local linearization of magnetostatic properties of composite materials with ferromagnetic inclusions in a non-magnetic matrix are described. These methods are applied to the experimental data obtained in Gorkunov et al. [Russ. J. Nondestruct. Test. 3 (2001) 186]. A qualitative agreement is obtained for the concentration values reported in that paper and a quantitative agreement is achieved at slightly different value of concentration. The conclusions are supported by direct numerical modeling.
