| Abstract: | Mode-hop-free wavelength tuning of 4.45 nm was achieved by a short-active-region distributed Bragg reflector laser without phase control. Simple and continuous tuning was realised with a single tuning current. High-speed wavelength tuning of 5 ns during direct modulation of 2.5 Gbit/s was also achieved. |
