China＇s first 1000-MW wind farm is under construction in Jiangsu

On October 27, the Three Gorges engineering greeted another milestone in its construction. Li Yongan, president of China Three Gorges Project Corporation declared that the goal of 136 m reservoir impoundment had been achieved, and the Three Gorges reservoir had formally entered the stage of normal operation and dispatching.

Three Gorges reservoir filled up to 156 m elevation

According to the Energy Bureau of the Economic Development Zone, Yangkou Port, Jiangsu Province, a 1050-MW wind farm will be built up in Rudong County in five to eight years. It will be the first wind farm in excess of 1000 MW throughout the country.
