Abstract: | The double-torsion technique is commonly used to measure fracture toughness. A finite thickness of samples is used for the measurement; however, for samples of varying thickness, a correction factor is introduced in the double-torsion equation. This was verified by using machinable glass ceramic samples differing in thickness. |
