Using BP ANN to evaluate factors affecting the core competitiveness of an enterprise

In order to effectively enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises, the key factors affecting their core competitiveness must be identified and analyzed. Based on a back-propagation (BP) artificial neural network (ANN) and a comprehensive index system evaluating an enterprise's core competitiveness, an expert model of its core competitiveness was established. On the basis of this, a model was constructed that identifies the key factors affecting an enterprise's core competitiveness, providing a useful tool for formulation and implementation of an enterprise's competitive strategy. An empirical study, using Harbin Pharmaceutical Group, showed that the model effectively identifies key factors affecting their core competitiveness. It thus has significant value for resource allocation, helping to target potential enhancements of an enterprise's core competitiveness.
