A simplified model of a TRAPATT diode |
| |
Abstract: | A simplified computer model of a TRAPATT (trapped plasma avalanche triggered transit) diode was developed and is used to investigate realistic voltage-current waveforms (i.e., waveforms that produce negative conductances at all signal frequencies). Oscillator efficiency variations due to fundamental and second-harmonic current tuning were studied. The computed waveforms show good agreement with the TRAPATT waveforms obtained experimentally. |
