| Abstract: | Hot tearing is one of the most serious failures in production of steel cas-tings. It is a common goal of foundrymen to control and prevent the defect. In this paper, the effect of molding sand on hot tearing was investigated, and the different influences of furan bonded silica sand and sodium silicate bonded silica sand on hot tearing was indicated by experiments and analyses. |
