Factors Affecting the Determination of Total Nitrogen in Water Quality and Improvement Measures

in order to solve the problems of high blank value and poor test results in the determination of total nitrogen content in water by potassium persulfate oxidation digestion ultraviolet spectrophotometry,a series of single factor experiments were designed to study the influence of dilution water,solution,reagent selection,vessel cleanliness,storage time and operation sequence on the total nitrogen absorbance.The results show that the use of commercially available purified water can replace ammonia free water,the selection of clean colorimetric tubes,colorimetric dishes and imported potassium persulfate reagent plays an important role in reducing the blank value and testing accuracy.
