Estimating Productive Work by Work Sampling with a Preassigned Relative Error

This article discusses a two-stage sampling procedure with a preassigned relative precision for estimating the percent of time spent in an activity of work when little information is available about the actual population percentages beforehand. Only a minimum number of observations will be taken. A table is included to aid in the sample size computations.
