Abstract:A long chain polyquaternary ammonium salt modifier intermediate terminated by tertiary amine group was prepared by 1, 3-bis(3-glycidoxypropyl)-1, 1, 3, 3-tetramethyldisiloxane and tetramethylhexanediamine(TMHDA). Then quaternary ammonium modified organosilicon softener which was self emulsifiable and reddish brown transparent was synthesized through the reaction of intermediate and epoxy-terminated polyether silicone oil. The structure of softener and its film-forming morphology on fiber was characterized by IR and SEM. The influences of emulsion dosage, curing temperature and time on the application performance of fabric were discussed. The results showed that the softener had the expected structure. When the emulsion dosage was 40 g/L, the curing temperature was 160 ℃ and the curing time was 90 s, the wetting time of treated fabric was 8.74 s, the relative hand feeling value(RHV) was 4.74, and the subjective feel rating was grade 5. The application performance was better than the common quaternary ammonium salt softener. The softener has antibacterial properties.
