Abstract:There is a growing interest to overcome such diet-related health issues through the interactions with gut microbiome. A complex network of interactions between nutrition, gut microbiota and health has gradually emerged, which has been rarely explored in its whole. Imbalance of the normal gut microbiota has been linked with gastrointestinal conditions. This editorial highlighted the recent developments in the hydrocolloid-structured foods and the gut microbiome in the digestive tract.
