| Abstract: | The chatoyant effect of artificial gemstone made from fiber optical elements is examined based on the principle of light-transmission for optical fibers with angled end-faces and the result of a simple experiment. A hypothesis of light-reflection from the prism-shaped ends of a parallelly oriented fine composite structure composed of two transparent media having different refractive indexes is proposed. |
