Simulation Research on Grounding Short-circuit Fault of Auxiliary Exciter

Abstract:This paper mainly aims at the grounding short-circuit fault of auxiliary exciter.According to the principle of zero sequence voltage filter and negative sequence voltage filter,a grounding short-circuit fault model including auxiliary exciter(power supply),rectifier and load is built through Simulink.The location of grounding short-circuit fault is identified by using the principle that zero sequence voltage or negative sequence voltage will appear at the machine terminal during grounding short-circuit.The simulation results show that when the zero sequence voltage increases,if the current basically does not change,it is the grounding fault on the local side of the auxiliary exciter.If the current change ratio is more than 1.2 times different,it is a ground fault at the excitation side.
