SMPDP自动功耗调整方法的设计

摘    要:本文提出了一种针对荫罩型等离子体显示屏(SMPDP)的自动功耗调整功能实现方法。该方法首先计算当前帧的视频图像信号输入亮度等级,然后通过比较处理和查表得到显示该帧采用的维持脉冲个数,并将该信息输出到行驱动波形发生器,从而实现系统有效功耗随显示图像的自动调整功能。其中查表时参考的是一条按SMPDP显示性能优化的输入信号亮度等级与维持脉冲个数非线性关系曲线。该方法能在提高SMPDP的峰值亮度的同时,将整机功耗稳定在一个比较安全的范围内,对增强系统运行稳定性也有很大作用。

Abstract:A new automatic-power-control(APC) method for SMPDP was presented. It calculates the brightness level of the input frame, compares with the instant output brightness level, and determines the exact sustain pulse number according to a special table, which includes a nonlinear curve to show an optimized relationship between the output brightness level and the sustain pulse number for SMPDP. By means of this APC method, the peak brightness has been greatly improved while the total power consumption was maintained within a safe operation area. The stability of the SMPDP driving system was improved as well.
