Based on the theory of system reliability, the relation of the reliability between the inverter welding machine system and its components is discussed The results show that the system reliability is less than that of the component that is least reliable in the system. The system reliability can be increased by introducing on-line spare element into the system. The screening and ageing of cells, employing integrated components and reducing the number of elements in the system are also beneficial to the reliability increase of the inverter welding machine system.
