Psychogists in Public Service and How They Grew.

Provides information about the primary employments of APA members as reported in APA directories from 1939 to 1955. The outstanding findings is that, while APA membership increased some 530% during the 16-year span, the number of psychologists employed by governmental agencies increased 1150%, whereas the number employed by publicly supported college and universities increased only 330%.
