Quality nonuniformity factors for sheet steel

Abstract:Structural and fractographic analyses have showed that the nonuniform quality of sheets made from steels St3sp, 10–15KhSND, and 09G2S is due to heterogeneous structures of the metals, the appearance of which is due to the manufacturing heredity when the tolerance range of through technology is wide. This decreases the efficiency of control by perturbation method and the depth of prediction of properties when the simulation is limited by the structural transformations occurring in the course of rolling. To find the factors determining the quality nonuniformity of sheet products, it is reasonable to widen the application of statistical processing of manufacturing supervision data and to develop and implement methods for quality control of sheet products, which are based on studying the geometry of structure and fracture (from the type of fracture).
