ASTM Standards in the Field of Electrical Contacts

History of ASTM standard organization,classification and influence of ASTM standards,and the ASTM standards that are under the jurisdiction of ASTM committee B02 and are the direct responsibilities of subcommittee B02.05 and B02.11 on the territory of electrical contact materials and phenomena are introduced.These standards are classified into 6 groups according to contents and corresponding relationships by terminology and classification,electrical contact materials,performance of electrical contact materials and test methods,performance of electrical contacts process and testmethods,qualification evaluation of noble metals coating and erosion gas environmental tests.Primary coverage and interdependence and of these standards are presented.Guidance of these standards towards manufacture process of electrical contact materials and tests of electrical contact phenomena are discussed.
