Theory of situational, instrument, second order, and refraction factors in personality structure research.

The determination of personality structure by multivariate experimental methods has led to stable, meaningful results as well as to confusing inconsistencies. Becker (see 35: 6414) has recently criticized the foregoing theoretical position. The present paper presents additional data and further arguments related to the over-all problem.
