Abstract: | A comparison of parametric and nonparametric statistics is presented in terms of practical problems and measurement theoretical considerations. Though there is little to choose between the 2 in terms of significance level or power it is stated that parametric procedures, being more versatile, best meet the needs of psychological research. Type of metric scale, ordinal vs. interval, has little relevance to the question of whether to use parametric or nonparametric statistics. From Psyc Abstracts 36:01:3AE05A.
