FEASIBILITY OF FIBERGLASS COMPOSITE APPLIED IN BRIDGE

The performance and development situation of fiberglass composite were briefly introduced, application examples in the bridge were given, some opinions about bridge design using the composite were put forward. The analyses show that fiberglass composite bridge possesses the light weight, good integrity of structure, duration safety and reliability, expedient construction. Because of high price and cost of construction, its widely applications in the bridge have been limited . It is needed to study structure of bridge and composite technics of material, so that the equivalent price or cost of contruction can be achieved. The wide application of the fiberglass composites in the bridge can be forecast.
