Abstract:ZnO nanorods and trigonal-shaped ZnO ultrafine particles were synthesized by sonochemical method through the decomposition of zinc acetate dihydrate in paraffin oil. ZnO nanorods and trigonal-shaped ZnO ultrafine particles were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), selected area electron diffraction (SAED), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV–visible spectrophotometer. One strong UV emission peak at 390 nm was observed.
