Synthesis and transport properties study of Nd1−xSmxNiO3−δ solid solutions

Abstract:Nd1−xSmxNiO3−δ ceramics were studied by means of XRD, iodometric titration, DSC and resistivity measurements. The metal-insulator transition for all compositions was studied by two independent procedures: resistivity and DSC measurements. The reason for differences in transition temperatures, defined by these two techniques is discussed. It was shown that these materials are promising for practical applications in bolometric devices due to high values of temperature coefficient of resistivity at room temperature.
