| Abstract: | Color words in Chinese have their counterparts in English. English color words have arich variety of colorful meanings. They find wide uses in modern English. This paper dealswith the expressions of colors in English, the meanings and usage of the phrases related tocolor words, and emphati-cally points out the simitarities and dissimilarities between Englishand Chinese in idiomatic usage. |
