Abstract:Photocatalyst of nano spinel type zinc stannate powder was prepared via coprecipitation method by SnCl4·5H2O and ZnSO4 · 7H2O. It was characterized by XRD,XPS, SEM. The degradation experiment of xylenol orange solution were performed by the photo-catalytic methods on the light of wavelength (λ=312 nm ). In addtion, the relation in the amount of catalyst,initial concentration of xylenol orange, calcining temperature of catalyst, pH of xylenol orange solution and illumination time with the decolorizing efficiency were discussed. The results indicated that the average particle size of the powder of the cubic zinc stannate was less than 30 nm. The catalyst can be reused more than 5 times and exhibited high performance with degradation rate of xylenol orange over 85%.
