The concept and function model of multi-function self-validating sensor are introduced,which has features of multi-function sensor and self-validating sensor.It can measure multiple-physical quantity,validate the on-line working status,and compute uncertainty the measurement values.Fault diagnosis function is provided in the new type sensor.Once the sensor is at fault,it can reconstruct outputs by using the relativity of multiple-physical quantity and achieve data recovery.It points out that the development direction of multi-function self-validating sensor and the key technologies will be researched in future.Finally,it gives an example about the functional multi-parameter self-validating sensor,which can measure the temperature,relative humidity and trace of methane gas at the same time.
