| Abstract: | The present status of the preheating treatment process for case hardened steel gear blanks is introduced. The influences of the normalized structure and hardness of steel workpiece on its cutting performance and deformation after carburizing and quenching are discussed. It is suggested that the isothermal normalizing technology should be promoted to increase the preheating treatment quality of gear blanks. |
