Abstract:With cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) as the drag reducer, the conveying characteristics of the phosphorus-tailings-based filling material (PTFM) were studied by using a self-made conveying device, and the effects of CTAB on the conveying capacity and viscosity of PTFM slurry were investigated. The results show that with the concentration of PTFM slurry at 74%, an increased addition of CTAB can result in gradual increase in the conveying capacity of PTFM slurry, but a decrease in the viscosity. The reasons for the conveying characteristics of PTFM slurry improved by CTAB were analyzed by using Zeta potentiometer, settling particle analyzer and turbidimeter. It is found that CTAB increases the Zeta potential of PTFM, leading to an increase in the electrostatic repulsion between particles, as well as an increase in the dispersion degree of particles, but the decrease in the viscosity. The results of sedimentation test also show that the addition of CTAB can enhance the dispersion degree of particles. Furthermore, the addition of CTAB can slightly improve the compressive strength of PTFM. With the conveying capacity of PTFM and the compressive strength after curing periode taken into the comprehensive consideration, an appropriate addition of CTAB is determined to be 600 g/t.
