Abstract:It is proven through the site model tests made in Harbin Shaohe Portable Water Plant and the study of the data measured during the operation of the said plant that conventional water supply processes can remove about 60% ~ 70% of the CODMn in the raw water when the mass concentration of CODMn of the effluent water does not exceed 3 mg/L and, therefore, it is believed that the enhancement of conventional processes is one of the ways nonnegligible for pollution elimination. A further approach is made through beaker tests on optimum coagulating agent and coagulation conditions for pollution elimination, based on which it is believed that it is necessary to take into consideration the need of eliminating both turbidity and pollution and to rationally select coagulants and coagulation conditions. In productive practice, full use should be made of the pollution eliminating effect of conventional processes, so as to resolve the issue of eliminating the pollution of drinking water in a most economic and easiest way.
Keywords:feed water treatment  micro-pollution  coagulation  running water
