Abstract: | The Galatea-3 (MIREA) setup comprising a coaxial plasma gun, a plasma guide, and a Trimix galatea (containing three myxines) is briefly described. The plasma bunch parameters in the plasma guide and trap have been determined. It is demonstrated that plasma can be effectively trapped and spread in the proposed trap system. The confined plasma bunch protrudes out of the Ohkawa contour. Estimates show that the loss of particles from the trap is on a classical diffusion level. |
