| Abstract: | During the last decades, the organic/inorganic hybrid materials have attracted attention increasingly due to a large range of potential applications. The sol-gel process, with its associated mild conditions, has been becoming an important approach to prepare hybrid materials that advantageously combine inorganic oxides and organic polymers. In this review, a brief summary of the research activities in the field of organic/inorganic hybrid materials and a general background of the sol-gel chemistry were given. |
