TL16C550芯片在串行通信中的应用

摘    要:串口在嵌入式领域的有着广泛的应用,但是很多嵌入式CPU却不能提供足够的UART接口。因此,就必须采用UART芯片扩展来扩展CPU的串口。16C550是市场上比较成熟的一款UART芯片;它支持5V和3.3V的供电电压,实用性比较强。S3C4510B是三星公司出产的一款典型的ARM7CPU。采用16C550扩展S3C4510B的串口,具有很大的实际应用及参考意义。在此基础上,还给出了相应的编程实例。

Abstract:Though serial is widely used in embedded field, many embedded CPUs cannot support e- nough UART interface. Thus, it' s important to expand serial with an extended UART chip. 16C550 is one of the most widely used UART chip and supports both 5V and 3.3V power. S3CA510B is one of the most classic embedded CPU produced by Samsung. It is significant and practical to expand serial in S3C4510B with 16C550. Moreover, some programming cases related are illustrated.
