| Abstract: | This paper describes the principle of measuring casing thickness with ultrasonic pulse echoes, and analyzes the limitation and the feasibility of detecting casing corrosion and defect based on the principle. A scheme is presented for casing thickness measurement, and numerical simulation is given. The simulation result demonstrates that under certain conditions, the casing thickness measurement with ultrasonic pulse echos is feasible in spite of some difficulties in technique. |
