当前城市化进程加快，建筑“走向空中”已是不可逆转的趋势。该文借用这一背景，探寻在解决人们对地面居住体验的追求与建筑现代化这一矛盾时，檐廊空间这一传统建筑空间能否作为解决该矛盾的有效途径之一而引入。同时通过对杭州九树公寓这一当代集合住宅实例的解读，表述传统檐廊空间在现代语境下的适应性表达。
