Abstract: | In this nonisothermal research, the thermal behavior and oxidation kinetics of crude oils were investigated through TG/DTG and DTA tests at three heating rates. The resulting curves exhibit three integrated reactions of distinct oxidation mechanisms (LTO, FD, and HTO) sequentially in overlapped temperature intervals as reaction progresses, the behaviors of that are affected greatly by heating rate. Because of the larger amounts of heavy components and higher availability of deposited fuel, heavy oil exhibits more excellent heat release capability but higher kinetic parameters than light oil, especially in HTO region. Due to the insufficient parameters calculation based on a single kinetic method, other formulated models would be introduced for comparative analysis in the next work to upgrade kinetic research. |
