Magnetotelluric prospecting methods are widely used in carbonate areas of southern China There is an obvious and severely static shift How to correct the static shift is critical in processing and inverting the observed data A new method is developed for correcting the static shift A key point of the method is to apply the resistivity parameters of rocks to calibrate the apparent resistivity curves of high frequency The method is proved ideal and effective by testing 40 profiles at more than 700 sites
