| Abstract: | This is a pilot study on the conserva-tion planning of historic towns and villages. The au-thors introduce the definition of historic towns &villages according to current practice in China, thenexplicate the principles and methods of the planning,as well as such contents as identification of the townshistoric or cultural value, specification of the area forconservation, conservation and repair of historicarchitecture, conservation of street space and keysites, and conservation surrounding environment,etc. |
