Abstract: | The change in the physical properties of the fluid in a packed-bed reactor operating under a fixed pressure drop may lead to steady-state multiplicity, with each state corresponding to a different inlet velocity. Using a pseudo-homogeneous plug flow model with no axial dispersion we determine the conditions under which multiplicity occurs for a zeroth-order reaction. |
