Intelligent technology and automation

A nested architecture is proposed to explain the concepts of conventional control, intelligent control and intelligent information processing, the relationship among these systems, and the applications of intelligent technology, which implies mainly the approaches developed in artificial intelligence and computational intelligence, to systems at different hierarchies. New developments of intelligent technology are reviewed which include VC learning theory, behavior based systems and artificial emotions.
