Abstract:The crystal structure of the LiNaZnP2O7 compound is determined using X-ray powder diffraction (space group Cmcm, a = 12.431 Å, b = 7.589 Å, c = 6.283 Å). The structure has a mixed tetrahedral framework consisting of the diortho groups P2O7] and the tetrahedra ZnO4] and LiO4], which are joined into chains. The ZnO4] and LiO4] tetrahedra are distributed in the chains in a random manner, because the zinc and lithium atoms statistically occupy one crystallographic position. The sodium cations are arranged in channels of the tetrahedral framework. The atomic coordinates and interatomic distances in the structure are reported.
