Abstract: | The performance of a photovoltaic (PV) module varies with the change in its internal parameters, namely, series resistance, shunt resistance and ideality factor. They vary due to the manufacturing process involved as well as the material used to fabricate the PV system. For the performance to be as close to the ideal case, a model of the PV system has been used to simulate the performance of the various parameters. This paper presents the effects of variations in the performance of a PV module which occur due to the change in its parameters. One-diode model of a PV cell has been used to plot current–voltage and power–voltage characteristics of a 37-Wp solar module. |
