In this paper the superiority and weakness of blast furnace process and smelting reduction process are reviewed-At present the smelting reduction process is yet imperfect and it will not take the place of blast furnace process in a long period of future.China's ironmaking technical specialists should pay close attention to the trend in the development of smelting reduction process,and work actively on study of this process at the same time.
