The paper reviewes the gains and losses in the green land construction of Shanghai city parks along with their development. The author proposes that tree forests should be the main body in the greening of city parks. International design ideas should be introduced and local conditions be taken into consideration. The history protection and cultural artery continuance should be emphasized. Features of ecologic garden should be reflected, new artistic conceptions be created, and limited space be reasonably utilized, which forms the characteristics of Shanghai city park green land.
