Assuring the safety of irradiated food

Abstract:The way in which irradiation of meat and poultry is regulated in the US is discussed, together with guidelines for developing quality control programmes for irradiation within a hazard analysis and critical control point system, packaging considerations and materials, labelling requirements, and the importance of keeping international standards in mind when developing irradiation guidelines.
